Does anyone know how to install a floor pan in a 1965 Ford F100 pickup from Dennis Carpenter? Does it have to be cut out 1 to 1, or do you leave a lip around the sides of the floorboard?
On floors I usually cut the panel out of the floor smaller so you have a lip and the weldings not as difficult. Some areas you will need to remove the spot welds like on flanges.
Welcome to FTE, I know you already know what we're all about, so Hi and welcome to the boards.
I never got an answer from you when I replied to you about our "1020"s.
On the Floor replacement panel question, panels are not cut as a precision replacement, but rather slightly larger than what most folks require to make the repairs. So the qwik answer would be I cut them to Fit the size of repair I need to make Plus enough Margin to get into Healthy material to which I can re-weld the new replacement material.
If you have the time, the patience, the equipment & the skill, "stitch" a butt weld if you can. I prefer this method because no lamination results that can allow more trouble to start where it can't be sealed. Just my preference
