I've read a couple of posts here that mention laying rubber with their diesels. My stock 'o6 6.0 3.73 has lots of power but my tires never break traction. Do I call BS or assume they're using a mod?
Sure it will! Stand on brake pedal. Nail the throttle and watch the boost guage. Around the time you hit 20 psi, look in rear view mirror and observe large clouds of tire smoke!

Did it with mine (unintentionally) and it's bone stock. Jumped on it........first it bogged a bit, dug in and took off. Then the turbo spooled up THEN it broke traction for about 10 feet, then it caught back up with itself and continured to march. Weirded thing I ever heard...........Sort of a RMMMMM..........WHAAA........RMMMMM sound...............
Kind of what gunner says.Had a gas guy showing me what he had,i showed him what the 6.0 has. both trucks cc duallys.them tires were digging, truck was screaming.
My 06 has spun the tires a few times from a dead stop, but its hard because the turbo takes to long to build boost. Now if you powerbrake it, forget spinning the tires, you just roast them. Add sct on the race tune and now your talking 100ft stretches with ease. I love the 6.0
My dually could break'em loose by power braking with the stock Conti's, but with the 35" soft rubbered Super Swamper's on there now, they just stick and my head gets slapped against the headrest.
Powerbraking works the best since the turbo takes so long to spool up but tell ya what its the best way to rip off the line and lay some rubber on them rice burners!!
I have done dry-pavement donouts in a parking lot. Step on the brake, boost up to 20psi and let the fun begin. I have only done this once and I don't intend on doing it again. But I had to know if I could do it. I also love teaching the rice burners what a diesel can do...nothing like blowing black smoke in their face!
off topic here, I don't know much about the 6.0 since i dont have one, im a 7.3 guy, But I always here how the 6.0 has turbo lag and it's horrible. I thought that vgt turbo was supposed to make turbo lag a thing of the past?
Yay! I learn some of the coolest stuff from y'all. You can bet I'll give 'er a go next time I'm out. Would love to burn up a riceburner behind me. Especially if he's booming me on the stereo.
