Info on Flathead inline six
I am interested in information on the Ford flathead I6 engines (1941-1951?), both the 226 and 254 cid versions. Particularly at this time I am interested in obtaining photographs of the motor and what is the inatke and exhaust port and manifold configurations. I suspect there were some siameezed ports/manifold runners.
Also, I understand the only other flathead I6 Ford ever made was in 1908. Anybody know the basic stats on that engine?

Hello - I saw your post on ford-trucks.com about literature. I have "Repair Manual Ford 6 cyl G series 41-47" and "FoMoCo Truck Chassis Parts 48-51". I also have a flathead 6 cyl from a 1949 F-100. Thanks, Actually I also posted on the '48-'60 forum since the engine spanned both forums. You may want to look over there as there were several replys with interesting info. I don't need detailed info like for rebuilding because I don't have a flathead. My interest is more in admiring the simplicity of the motor (and admiring it almost like a work of art; hence the desire for photographs) and dreaming of someday owning one. Paul
