Hello,
When my Expy is cold, I put it in drive, it feels like the transmission is slipping. I can give it more throttle and it grabs and moves out like it is supposed to. After warming up, there is no more slipping. I tried the fluid and filter change. Fluid was old but not burnt. Nothing unusual in the pan. Still does the same thing. Any ideas?
That was common on C6's. The forward clutch seal was the problem. Seal kits came out with a revised seal that would handle the heat from the input shaft better. The trans would be slow to engage first thing after startup in cold weather. After that the problem would not reappear for the rest of the day. The colder it was outside, the worse the problem was. Not sure what trans you have, maybe a place to look. If this is the problem, it would need an overhaul to fix....Don
When the trans is cold check the level on the dipstick. (engine off) Then check it warm, engine off. If the level differs by a large amount you may have the convertor draining back. There would be a delay until the converter fills. There is a check valve for this that could be fixed without removing the transmission. If you look at Transgo's website, there are some fixes for this. The C6, E4OD and the 4R100 all share common engineering as far as the planetaries and clutches go...Don
