Planning to install a trans cooler kit tomorrow.
Looking for any tips to make it easier!
So far I've got the front grill out!
How do you pull them little plastic clips doo hickeys out of the rubber shield over the top of the radiators and coolers?
I've pried at one with screw drivers and such, and the lil things just don't want to let go! Is there an easey way?
I figure to slide this cooler down in front of the air con one, and secure with rubber blocks and cable ties off the air con radiator! (Unless someone convinces me otherwise!).

Anyone have any photo's, of where to disconnect the exisiting cooler (I understand it's not the small one which is the power steering fluid cooler), and that you must disconnect after its passed thru the bottom of the radiator..

Just thought it might be handy to identify what I'm going to be disconnecting first is all.

Is there any reason to remove the existing cooler?...indeed why don't the kits just T off the existing cooler and retain the cooling capacityof the original as well as the supplementary (or is that how it's done).

This kit of mine comes with no destructions of any kind, so I'm flying blind as it were!

I unbolted the A/C condenser and pushed it aside ( still connected as not to loose the freon) and slide mine in directly above the existing one, used plumbers tape to secure it on three sides and then ran both coolers in series.

 

I have a trim panel remover. It looks like a screw dirver with a two prong fork on the end that slides under the plastic clips and you can pry them up. They are available from most auto parts stores.
