Its time to replace the old wooden mounts on my 42, they are rotten, but there is enough left to make a patern, so no problem there, however I recall mention of making metal ones. Anybody have luck with this? and if so do they incorporate some type of rubber isolator?
Tongie - Steve used the old wood mounts as a template for the metal ones he made. He started with 2x4 steel hollow beams that were left over from when we built our shop. They turned out real good and YES he put 1/8" rubber where ever it would be touching metal to metal.
Also, he just bought a peice of 2x4 aluminium hollow beam that he's gonna make the box mount from with the rubber where it touches metal to metal and do away with that wood framing.
Next time I update my gallery, I'll post a photo of the cab mounts in place (first I have to get the film developed).
hey just wondering if your able to give us any more info of those metal cab mounts i like the sound of that - esp. as i don't have any mounts full stop
