I bought a nice bed in Colorado which I thought was the same as my 39 ford 1/2 ton. Then spare tire mount is on the bed rather than the running board, and there is no indentation for the spare tire or hole for gas tank filler. Any idea what year this may be? thanks, Gordon

 

Measure the width inside the box. If it's 49" then you have what sounds like a '42-'47. '38-'41 beds are only '46 inches wide inside. What side of the bed is the spare tire mount?
Hmm, all this talk of beds is making me sleepy

 

Doggone it - looks like I have a nice 42-47 with newly bead blasted , primed and straightened fenders. Measures 49" and a little bit.

Would be cool if my truck wasn't 39!

Sounds like it has had a lot of work done. If you want to sell it and are in a close area I might be interested in it for one of my trucks.
