Ha, if you live in, or know anything about Mass, you know how much the state LOVES us offroaders......... anyone know of good places to go, besides Freetown state....... I've tried to write to the EPA and get more trails opened but they will not even write back...... Any ideas?
Wasn't there a state park going out Rte 28 from West Wareham? I can't remember the name of it right now, but we used to go there and find dirt roads that were "less" used and would take us off of the beaten path. But that was 35 years ago.
My sister used to live in Freetown on Flag Swamp Road out in the middle of nowhere. Miss the backwoods of southeastern Mass.
I do know that you can run the beaches of Nantucket if you air down to 15 psi (local ordinance). Most are privately owned, but the owners are good about letting the public play. Good luck finding something.

Freetown does have some cool trails, its just a matter of it being legal. I've heard a little about rt 28 and we've been planning a trip out there. I've also heard there is some good trails in western mass.
Remembered the park, it was Myles Standish State Park. It is not on the list of parks with off-road trails. Problem is, ALL of the parks listing off-road trails limit vehicle weight to no more than 1,000 pounds - no trucks.
You might want to check out some of the rock and sand quarries. They may be willing to let you play a bit.

Oh yeah, I grew up in Westport. Southeastern Mass is my old stomping grounds. Used to go to Freetown from New Bedford by taking dirt roads from Faunce Corner Road north of Dartmouth going out towards Lakeville. Couldn't afford to live up there now, though!

There are some cool trails through Freetown into Fall River....... Lakeville has outrageous property values.... I don't know how I'm going to get a house...... I guess I should stop spending money on trucks though, ha.
