Body lift?

Body lift?
I know it’s the cheap and cheesy way out but I don’t have the money for a suspension lift and even if I did the money would probably get towards the bills. My question is can I get a body lift for a 96 ext cab 8' 250 psd. My brother has 36's that are in decent shape and im really wanting to put them on. He had them on a 98 dodge 1500 with a 3" body and they didn’t rub unless he really got ruff on the suspension. So my question is would they fit my truck? And were can I get a body lift for a diesel?

Hot dang!
I was wondering the same thing Cause i have a body lift for an extcab shrt bed f150 but it says not for diesel use. I couldn't find a body lift for a diesel. Lets hope someone knows!!
I was also wondering does a body lift effect towing, if you use a reciever (frame)? I wouldn't think so but i could be wrong.

Body Lift
You can't get a body lift for a powerstroke, and you wouldn't like it if you could. They have a terrible effect on riding quality, and our diesels our too heavy to install one. Jcab

I did a lot of research before I bought my first body lift. I talked to technicians at the manufacturing plant and to many others including several installation technicians. I've bought three in the past and I'm getting ready to buy my third for my latest acquisition the 97 F350 PSD Crew cab 4X4. Although I have respect for Jcab and all the time and energy he spends here helping us out I disagree with everything JCab said about body lifts. You can use the gas truck model 2" body lift and not have to modify too much to make it work. In fact the only mods you need to do are the same for the diesels as they are for the gassers. The only reason they are not sold as diesel-ready is because there is no way for the designers to be able to make them fit all diesels because several different types of intercoolers are available and intercoolers introduce tightness and lack of available space because an intercooler changes the front of the truck around the radiator and the rad support. My body lifts made my trucks ride better because they all had more than 200,000 miles on old, rusty, beat-up body mount hardware and replacing all that hardware and properly tightening it down eliminated vibrations, rattles and shaking and twisting. They give the trucks a better look. They make a lot more room for bigger tires. They open up the path that a new downpipe goes down through so there is no need to beat up your firewall body seam to make room for the downpipe. They also make it easier to pressure clean the under side of your truck. I like riding 2" higher. Park one of my trucks next to a stock set-up and they all drool over the way my trucks look(Also have a leveling kit installed on the front) compared to theirs. The diesel cab and bed is no heavier than the gas truck cab and bed. You're not lifting the diesel engine or the heavier suspension, you're just lifting the cab and bed. I think this is one of my favorite mods. I say go for it. I get mine from sportztrailers on ebay. Kit #822. It's like $110 shipped to your door within two weeks.
I'll be ordering another one in the next couple of weeks because I want to put a downpipe on my truck and I don't want to pound on my firewall. I like just slipping the new downpipe in there and tightening up the clamps. The next step for me on two of my trucks is to do shackle flips which I can work out to be about a 3" overall(suspension lift) without spending an arm and a leg.

How's the ride?
I understand how you can use a body lift, but has it changed the ride quality? Any vibrations from cab sitting on blocks? Thanks Jcab
