looking for best price on manual hubs for my 92 F350 4x4 in southwest washington. new or used. topgunn

That is a part that quality is more important than price to me, but I do spend a lot of time in the mud and snow.

I run Warn premiums on my bronco... it is also locked in the front, and I blow them up constantly... this is great for me, because I keep an extra set of stock ford ones, and hubs are we easier to change out in the bush than wheel joints or axles....

As for best price, have you tries werckers for a set of good stock ones?? thats the route I would go...

Whats actually wrong with yours??

the hubs willnot lock when in reverse, I can hear them clicking( like a rachet spining). They also will not lock in going forward. I had them serviced about three months ago. We have snow( 6 or 7 inches) , that thaws and then freezes. I have a long (half-mile) road to get to the county road, up a steep, long hill. They are sometimes not locked and we find out when we are starting up the hill ,then AWW ****T. WE are tired of the UNKNOWN.

I have Warn on mine....14-16 inches of snow here recently, no problems at all?!

My guess is they used a heavy grease in the hubs. It gets to stiff when cold and don't let the hub engage. When winter is getting close I take mine out, wash the grease out of the hub with gasoline and give each one a shot of synthetic oil and put it back in.
Works like a champ for me.

Oil is the way to go with hubs and cold weather... with the crappy automatic hubs oil is the only way to go....
