2000 f 150 4x4 offroad I was searching for new bfg muds and cant seem to find anyone that has them for under 200 bucks a tire. I bought mine 3 years ago for 180 a tire and that was the going rate. I guess they just went up that much since then. I got 40k out of a set of 285/75/16s and love them.I do a lot of hunting down muddy roads so i need mud tires. What other mud tires are you guys running and getting that mileage out of them for under 200 a tire. I was also looking at retreads. I work with a guy that swears by them and has had no problems what so ever. Has anyone run retreads in a mud tire or heard anything about them. Price is right for 80 bucks a tire but dont know what mileage you will get out of them or how safe they are...Thanks for any input. Greg
Im running Firestone Destination MT's. I love them so far. $165/tire mounted and ballanced for 285/75/16's. They are very agressive offroad, and are pretty quiet on the highway. I've put a little over 5,000 miles on them so far, and I cant tell where they have worn any...
I love my ProComp MTs. Real nice tires. You can usually find a deal on them (buy 3, get 1 free). For your size they are about $139. Check out www.selecttire.com
Yeah I looked at the pro comps but my father in law has them on his lifted 05 in 35's and he told me they are wearing fast with just street driving. Guess they are a softer rubber. The retreads im looking at are bfg mudds just retreaded with a bit diff pattern. I do like those firestones, just curious on the miles ill get out of them. Guess ill be doing more research....Thanks
The firestone's are good, wear nicely...my friend has a set in a 305 and has 25k on them and they aren't worn to badly. Off-road they are pretty solid also. However, my truck performs better than his with bfg m/ts. Of course though i have a ford and he has a chevvy hehe.
