fuel Milage
I was wondering what kind of milage I should expect from my 1989 F-150. It is a 4x4 model with a T-18 trans and 3.08 gears. The engine is a 300-6 with 84,000 miles. She has not been abused and still has the factory exhaust and everything. Just trying to get a basic idea as it will have to make a 500 mile trip to Illinois.

Guys with combos like that have reported up to 20+. Since you don't have much experience with that truck, I'd figure on about 15-16. Then, if you get better mileage--BONUS!! Best I ever did in my '90 was 17mpg, and the best I ever did in my '93 was 14mpg, but they are quite different setups.
You've got about the most fuel efficient setup these trucks had, save for the 4x4, which will cost you an mpg or two. Shift early and often, drive like a grandpa, and you just might see 20mpg.

best milage I ever got was in truck like yours. 89 reg short w5sd 4x4 3:55 REARS I got 20MPG + on long trips !5 on reg . I bought 3 new F150 91,93,95, exact same opitions down to color, And with each year got worse milage. Till I got my 94 F150 xlt sc sb 302maf 3:55 rears I get solid 15 MPG with it.
