Are Lanzar tweeters any good?? How about the cheap ones you see
on ebay.. I have a mtx amp that will put about 50 watts to them a piece if need be. Thanks
Depends on what you are after. Lazar is typically thought of as a 'low-end' line these days. That does NOT mean they are not suitable for your application. Tweeters run the gambit as far as sound quality and reliability. If you are just one of those guys looking for more 'sizzle' they should be fine. Ive sold tweeters for as little as $19/pr - nothing I would want in my truck - but they were 'okay' for the customer. If you are looking for better sound quality/performance I wouldnt spend less than $49/pair from a LOCAL SPECIALIST RETAILER - heck you can probably even listen to/touch the product before you buy!
Thanks for the reply what is a good brand that you would recommend. About what 10 years ago Lanzar was considered pretty good weren't they? I just am not wanting to give an arm and a leg. I guess I should toss the coaxils and get a good component set.
Yeah, back in the day Lanzar was a fairly big name.
Speakers are all personal preference - just like pizza. Your best bet is to visit a SPECIALIST RETAILER and listen to several sets. Bring along some music that you know and like. A good shop should be able to do an A/B demo.
Brands I like? Well here are a few that you should have no trouble finding:
JL Audio
Eclipse
Kicker
JBL
Infinity
Alpine
And if you are really into it and have a high end shop near by:
Focal
Morel/Macrom
Dynaudio
Thanks for the replies. I have some kicker 5x7's in now but they cut out after about 5 min of loud volume. They just don't sound good I had infinity's before but kept blowing the tweets. I am thinking about a good infinity component set or maybe polk. Thanks again.

You may want to check your gain setting on the amp. Something dosent sound right. This link may help. http://www.bcae1.com/gaincon2.htm

Reason: typos
Lanzar is more mainstream than you'd think. It's just low end China crap now, where it used to be USA made competition worthy gear. Their Opti amps are pretty good, and the Opti subs are decent. Other than that, I'd stay away.
Good tweets IMO, to look for:
LPG 25NFA
Morel MDT-20
Morel Supreme 110/130 (if you can fit either of them)
Vifa XT25 (if you can fit it)
Dayton RS28A-4 (really nice for the money, IMO)
Usher 9930
