Ok...I'm getting one for many reasons, of which I will not drag ya'll through.
The problem is, I can't pick out what quote I want to use.
The tattoo will be an American Flag in the background, with a crying eagle head on the left side and the WTC towers on the right side.
Below that, I'm going to put a quote...but I'd like a little help from you guys.
Please see the poll. Comments welcome. Thank you.
EDIT: and for reference, anything outside of the quotes on the first two isn't going to be part of it, just for knowledge of those reading. Thanks again.

Sounds like a great mural. As a tat, I'm not so sure. It's great that you want to show your patriotism and as a firefighter, I applaud you for that. It is my personal belief (and I may be the only person who believes this) that such a memorial belongs only to those with a direct connection to the 9/11 attacks. I certainly feel that any Police officer, Firefighter, Medic, EMT, Soldier or civillian who experienced loss as a result of those tragedies is entitled to that kind of ink. I also in no way am insinuating that you don't deserve to wear a rememberance if you should choose to, but you will be asked a lot of questions that you may or may not tire of answering over the course of your lifetime. I have had the opportunity to get ink related to several disasters over the course of my career, and I chose to remember those events in my head and my heart; had I lost a friend or loved one, I would have their name on my body in an instant. Just my two cents.
I have to say, though, I'd think long and hard before getting that tat. I'd check the code for displaying the American Flag, too- I know you're not supposed to print it on a t-shirt, and I' be surprised if tattoos were OK. Would kinda wreck the meaning of the whole thing if it's existence was considered disrespectful, no?
I have 2 tats I got in 1968. I don't regret them, and usually don't even think of them. Lots of people have them. Just think of future generations from now with 90 year old wrinkled up old women living in nursing homes, talking about their tats. Pretty funny thought actually.
Think long and HARD about this. I also agree that it is an AWSOME image, but would it translate to your skin. I have two and love both.
First was after I lost 100 pounds to remind me to never be that way again.
The second one is Hawaiian and I got it after debating/drawing for a year and also after my grandmother passed. I have it on my leg and love to show it off, but I know that I will have it for the rest of my life and I am proud of it and they symbols in it. The tattoo means Ancestry on Mother and Father's side (shark Teeth), My Family and my Wife's Family (Weave) and Arrows for each member of the family. Every time I am asked about it, I remember those that paved the way for me in this world.
Just think about it and then think again. Let it sit for about six months and then if you still want to get it, go for it.
I lost an uncle in the North Tower. 9/11 greatly angered me, and thus, I arrive at this point. I've been debating it for well over a year, and after a friend of mine got one, I'm quite sure I want it. Past that, none of you could really understand my motives, and I've no reason to explain them, suffice to say they are there.
You also have to remember that the work you want to get has a lot of detail on it. After a little time the detail works gets alittle blurry if you know what I mean. You have to really keep going back to get your work touched up. It's a life time commitment. I have 8 tatoos and before I get a new one I make myself wait a whole year to decide on what I want.
I will not try to talk you aout of a tattoo because I have 4 of them and I do not in any way regret getting any of them. I did vote for no quote though because sometimes the strongest words or sayings are those not said or printed at all!
I didnt vote for any of them. If i was you id either find another quote, or try putting his initials next to the tat or something like that. I just dont like the note those end on, id take it in another direction. Good luck with your tattoo
