'91 f150- 4.9. I have read through the threads and believe my lack of heat stems from the blend door (fingers crossed). Warm air at best, no heat to the floor, both hoses to the core are hot, etc. I took off the glovebox door and am looking at 7 maybe 8 screws. I assume this is how I would access the problem. Do I have to remove the heater core? If I do I may as well change it. I am also confused as to where the vacuum lines are located and exactly what affect they could have on my problem.
Also was wondering if a fluctuating temp gauge is normal for these trucks. Mine goes from just past the "c" to just past the first line in the normal range and goes back and forth during highway driving. T-stat new, coolant all set.
Any help or advice is much appreciated.
I dont know about the 4.9 but my truck with a 5.0 runs on the O in normal and stays there. Seems like you're running a bit cold. Try replacing the thermostat before you tear out your heater core.
