dome light issues

hey guys, earlier today i noticed my dome light was staying on with all of the doors being closed. the "door ajar" light is not on and i have tried lubing the door latches with wd 40 with no luck. i have a bad feeling i am going to have to get a switch or two replaced. are there any other suggestions out there or hints to try and fix this. would taking the door panel off and checking things out be a bigger pain than whats it worth??

Have you checked the dimmer switch on the dash that controls the dash backlighting? My kids turned it all the way 'on' one time and made all the interior lights stay on even with all doors shut. Took me a minute or two to figure out it was the dimmer switch overriding the door switches.

thanks gherrick that fixed it...that stupid thing was driving me insane and i almost took it to a garage before i drove it off a cliff but not now...thanks

I can never get it in my kids head to leave the damned switches alone now its a game to see who can get away with leaving a light on without dad noticing
