just wondering if anyone could tell me what possibly broke in my steering column on my 93 4-4 automatic, when i pulled it in drive yesterday,i thought i heard a snap, now my shifting lever is quite floppy and i cant get it in park, i only have drive, neutral and reverse..... thanks for any help...
could be something on the shift rail that runs down the top of the column. i think that thing's made of cast aluminum and breaks real easy, only couple bolts holding column up under dash, i'd drop the column down and take a look, or, pull the cover on the steering column, two pieces top and bottom between steering wheel and dash, and you might be able to see far enough down the top side of the column to see the problem, then drop the whole column to fix it.
thanks 95,i'll check it out and let you know how i make out.
