Does anybody publish an assembly manual for the '66 truck? It will be nice to have part numbers to reference by when purchasing parts.
I'm also looking for the parts needed to attach the original jack, folding handle and lug wrench to the inner fender. Pictures will help as the owners manual doesn't show how they attach.
There is a Ford Truck Parts & Accessories catalog. They seem to go for around $40 on Ebay (I have one), it's not particularly useful as far as illustrations as there aren't very many. The pickups are lumped in with all the heavy trucks so it can be a real fishing expedition to come up with the part numbers. I worked in parts for a dozen years and the Ford book is one of the worst I've ever had to use.
You can now buy a CD of the 1964-1972 Ford Truck Parts Book on ebay. The going price is $29.95. While this is not an assembly manual, there's enough pictures to keep you happy. Plus you can get all the part numbers you need, decode VIN plates, see all the paint options...you name it.
This is the same ref I'm using, tho I don't need to look at the pictures to figure out what the part number is.
It's also easier than trying to balance 20 pounds of parts books in your lap while trying to decode a VIN.
NOTE: This is an exact copy of the parts book, that when the original pages were assembled in two volumes, weighed around 20 pounds and stood around 2 1/4 feet high. This is not the reference the fellow^^^above is refering to.
If you get one and need help navigating, email me off FTE.
