I have a 2001 superduty Scab 2wd LB, I checked my brakes and they have about 60% of the pad left. Went I make a slow stop, using the brakes lightly a get a squeel. If I push noise on them it go away?? This is annonying. What the fix????
I posted this in the brake forum but no one reponded???
It's pretty much normal. Disc brakes squeal sometimes. Aside from a complete brake job, there isn't a lot you can do.
A buddy claimed he solved his squeal by taking the pads off and cutting diagonal grooves into the friction material with a hacksaw. but it seemed to me you'd just be shortening your brake pad life by doing that.
is this an all the time thing or just everyonce in awhile. it could just be cheap break pads now that they don't get to use asbestos anymore break pads aren't near as good as they used to be
