I took it to advance auto and there code is P0174 System too lean (Bank 2)
Check for unmetered air leaks, make sure the MAF is clean, and then check fuel pressure at WOT under load if you don't find an air leak or a dirty air meter.

Hey LXMan1, I just found this on my truck last weekend! Weird stuff=bad juju. I new something wasn't right, got low on feul and it started pinging, filled up and still "kinda did it." Got home and looked at the engine and BAM!! PCV hard line from Valve cover to intake O F F ! Plugged it back together and no ping'g!! WHEW! This is why I cruise this BB for new stuff to look for.... thanks guys!
advance auto's code book said O2 sensor and I called the mechanic and he said it's possible that he only replaced one of them.I'm gonna check and see, as well as clean the MAF.How do I check for unmetered air leaks?
I took the MAF sensor out to clean it.The MAF is new.I cleaned it anyway and checked the O2 sensors to see if he replaced more than one.Only one was replaced. Is there a way to test the remaining O2 sensors.I don't want to dump a ton of cash on parts that are working.I also checked my hoses for any bad connections or cracks.I'm gonna get some brake cleaner to check for vacuum and intake leaks. Can I use the electrical parts cleaner for that or should I use the brake cleaner?I'm gonna reset the EEC and see what happens.

The primary sensors are the only ones that are of any concern for the engine running properly. There's no real way to "test" one other than monitoring the switching of the sensor at idle and part throttle cruising. Just replace it if it's got more than 50K miles on it. Do not get Bosch sensors-only use the Ford(NTK)sensors-the resolution on the Bosch sensors is terrible and they just don't.

carb cleaner would be my first choice, brake kleen would be #2. spray it around the heads and listen and feel for misfires.
you COULD have a bad 02 sensor, they are about 50 bucks, i wouldnt shot gun one yet.
if you did clean the MAF, and you disconnect the battery, it may take 2 failures for a DTC to set and the MIL(check engine/malfunction indicator lamp) to illuminate. The PCM only tests the system 1 time per trip, so you may need to wait 2 trips of driving to know for sure if you fixed it or not.
this is where a scan tool can come in very handy because you can look at all the other data, MAF, MAP, EGR, IAC, HO2S, IAT, and figure out which is whacko.
It's been a few days and quite a few trips since I cleaned the MAF and disconnected the battery. The check engine light is still off.It seems that using the 93 percent octane gas has taken care of the pinging as well.I noticed a busted bolt where the converter connects to the manifold.I believe that is the source of the ticking.
