new user needs help with high idle
i have a 88 f150 5.0 auto last week it started a real high idle no tach but around 30 mph if i dont touch the pedal. wont kick down either. searched some other posts not sure of answer thou. i disconnected the wires for the iac and the tps and very slight change but not enough to even help a little have otc code reader but in storage cant get to it right now. changed rad 1 mounth ago oreilly gave me wrong one old was 1 row new one is 3 or 4 row runs cool all the time now new thermostat and water pump too.but runs at n on normal (dummy -gauge) dont know if that temp has to do with it because that r and r was a mounth ago problem started last week without any warning any ideas thanks cj

Yes you can, and yes it will idle faster and smoother. That is the safest way. Using liquid solvents or cleaners is a very bad idea on a hot engine. That's a disaster waiting to happen. The propane won't puddle or flash and make a very dangerous and explosive vapor. It just blows away.
Check particularly around the base of the plenum, between that and the lower intake. This is a common problem on the 5.0's.
