7.3L leaking oil

I have a 2001 F-250 7.3L diesel with an oil leak that has filled the valley of the block with oil. I have already replaced the turbo pedestal o-rings. And the leak is still coming. It seems to be coming from around the fuel/water seperator bowl. There are two braided steel lines going from the head to the filter housing. Are these having to do with the new unit injectors that Ford is using? And are they prone to leak? I have not been able to find anything else that is under pressure up front that could leak close to 2 quarts in a 30min drive.

yep sounds like you have a HPOP (high pressure oil pump) leak. the most common places for it to leak are from the lines that attach to the HPOP or the plug at the bottom of the HPOP. it takes new O-rings to fix.

Exclamation

I did finally find the leak. It was a badly installed o-ring by an overpaid union laborer. The o-ring finally managed to blow the rest of the way out. There is a small plug at the bottom of the high pressure oil pump that was the culprit. And luckily no parts store, other than Ford, has ever even heard of HPOP.
