Dont buy the new one till after the marraige,,,,,,,,,,,,If things go wrong with the relationship some other guy might be drivin the NEW CAR you are making payments on.LOL And theres little you can do about it. lol
if they're making a redesign id wait. i have a focus at home and i love that little car. its comfortable and easy on the gas. but i was just out in italy and i saw a few ford focus' out there. their cars look much better than the ones we have here. hopefully the new redesigns will look like theirs. it really is a huge difference. does anyone know why ford does that? thanks a bunch and good luck with the car shopping!
the reskin looks even more different from the euros than the current one. at this point ford won't make any money using the C1 (euro focus/volvo c30/mazda3) platform because the C2 platform will be coming out in the next few years and then the focus will finally catch up to the rest of the cars in it's class.
You can see some photos of if you look in the ford vs the comp. forum, that and the reskinned 500.
Thefarelaneman... Not to be looking on the negative side of things, but I've already got all of my ducks in a row when it comes to my finances and belongings. What's mine is mine and what's hers is OURS!
I saw the '08 Focus... I'm waiting for that one! A nice looking deal that Ford has got going there... They will have my business when they arrive at the dealer!
i had owned with my ex girlfriend, an 2002 protege 5, that had the 2.0 five speed, that car moved for only 130 hp, it turned 62 at 6300rpm (6500 redline), i imagine the 2.3 would be even better to drive.
I checked out the redesigned focus, to me it looks better that the euro focus, the new interior is awesome, throw a turbo into the mix and you'ld have one bad a$$ focus. I took my st out of the garage and stared at it for awhile, with the street appearance package, being pitch black with a roush hood scoop, it still looks as good as the the new one comming out, so I won't be trading. Just going to throw some money at the one I got and build my own fast and the furious, I've allready started on it anyway. My dad had a stroke back in the spring, so I have to take him everywhere, thats why I traded my zx3 for a 4 door, so my self, wife and dad can all get in easier. If I have to have a 4 door, might as well make it an st.
I almost bought a Ford CPO 2006 Focus the other day...
$10,909 for an SE with 24k miles and power everything with the 2.0L. I walked away from it since they wouldn't give me what I wanted for my truck. lol.
They bumped the warranty up to a 7 yr./100k mile Ford ESP warranty from the 6 yr./75k that it had, but they wouldn't give me another $1k for my rig.
I left them with the deal on paper and my signature with my phone number, but I haven't heard from them yet. I figure they'll call, and if the don't... Oh well. I'll just wait for the '08s to come out!
If you want the 2 door coupe, I'l wait, however, if you want the 4 door, I'l buy this summer, not that much difference in the looks of the 4 doors and deals should be great on the 07's as they close out the model's.
Took the wife to drive a 2008 Focus. We drove a couple. First was a 4-door SE, and the second was a 2-door SES. Both were nicely loaded and a BIG change from the prior years.
But, she wanted to drive a Mazda 3. So, we went to the dealer and I was the first one to drive. All was pretty much the same to me at first compared to the '08 Focus, except for that auto-stick. Man, o-man! That sold the car.
We had it bought in roughly 30-minutes. I stuck with the 2.0L, and even with many 5-6k RPM shifts with that auto-stick, we still managed to get 31.1 miles per gallon. I'm hoping that driving it "right", we'll get 33 mpg or so.
