Power Steering

I'm a new member and was hoping for a little bit of help. Im trying to replace my power steering pump. I have an 01 F-150 2wd 6 cylinder 4.2. I've never done anything like this before, but I'm trying to learn more about my truck.

The main problem I'm having is a hose that is screwed into the backside of the pump. Is there any tricks available that makes that easier to come off. This hose is in the way of the last mounting screw that needs to be removed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

undo the hose and take it off... so that you have room... your replaceing the pump so you going to have to remove the hose no matter what

Angry power steering

The problem is is that there isnt much room to get the hose off. Like I wont be able to get in there and turn the wrench.

Welcome to the forum Maroptic

Did you get it figured out yet?
I use a crowfoot flare wrench with an extension on a ratchet to remove the hose.
I used Snap-On for an example but you should be able to find cheaper ones.......
