Unhappy Yet another question re true duals

Hi,

This is my first post but I have been lurking for weeks trying to find more info. Hopefully I missed something; here goes. I have a 94 F150 with the 351W, 4x4 Automatic. Standard bed, and one of those slightly extended cabs; still only two door. Dual gas tanks too even though the fuel pump crapped out on the rear. Anyways, I got a pair of hooker headers (full length) with the bung hole for the O2 sensor. I also have 2 brand new Flowmasters that I bought for my 71 Mustang but never used. I cannot seem to find any premanufactured solution for the pipes and H or X piipe to order online. I don't care about the cats but apparently my state does so I'm going to pick up a pair of the cheapest ones I can find that flow good.

So after my long winded ramble, does anyone have any idea of a manufacturer who makes what I need, and where I should look. I spoke with the local shop yesterday and he said $650 if I provide the parts.

Look at summitracing.com

I quickly found this , which I know I could get to work, but I bet they have a FORD truck one, if you search hard enuff.

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D680110&N=70 0+4294923429+4294922451+40

P.S.S Do the work your self if you can. if your state does not reqiure you to go take a "smog" test every year or 2 to get your tabs, I would personally make it a Cat-less system, but thats me.

Doing true duel with H or X pipes is not an easy proposal on this family of trucks due to the lay out of the gas tanks. Everything generaly has to be routed down the passenger side frame rail which dosen't lend itself to x or h configuration. Ive been toying with using a Dynomax X pipe muffler on mine which is just like yours with the exception of 4wd. But the muffler is pricey at $130 bucks through Summit. 2 in & 2 out. But supposedly it will give an x pipe sound rather than what you get with a 1 in 2out or a big 3 inch single pipe system.

Should have got shorty headers. I ran mine like stock y but split and put 2 2 1/2 cats basicaly in stock locaton . Put equalize pipe ahead cats ran back to mufflers and exit both sides behind tires . I have lived all over USA and could get complete w/cats exhaust put in . I have $420 wcats /pipes and mufflers" not counting headers" installed. We'll see what happens next state inspection (not emisions thats separate in Pa) . I saved all old stuff could put on and switch back I guess.

Magnaflow makes a parallel x-pipe to work on trucks where the pipes run down one side of the frame.

Wow,

Thanks for the responses. Summirt was the first place I looked but I will check out that link you sent me. I could go catless because I have an emissions waiver in CT. for the life of the vehicle. Also, I know the shorty headers would have been less headache but I want to improve low end torque. Add the flowmasters to that and to me, you have a sound that screams Ford small block.

As far as the H or X pipe goes, my main reason for including it is to equalize. I've heard many people were dissapointed with just a straight through setup but please correct me if I'm wrong.
