The curiosity has gotten to much for me. I want to figure out what axel/gears are in my truck. Is there any way to tell without tearing the pumpkin cover off? Does it say it on the door sticker or do I have to decode my vin #?
If your tags are missing (most 4 x 4's they get ripped off on the trails) This is a Chevy page (yes im more of a chevy guy, but have allways had Ford trucks), but gives the procedure and formula for finding your rear end gear ratio.
get the numbers off the door sticker, and post them here. someone will tell you what your gearing is.
or you can post the numbers off the tag on the rear if it is there.
with it being a 93 F150, it most likely has a ford 8.8 rear in it
Yeah, 3.55 seem to be very common. I haven't seen 4.10's in a stock regular F-150 but they were standard on the '93-'95 "Lightning" (Traction Loc). Nothing wrong with a 3.55 though....thats what I have...but then again I granny drive my truck around...haha
