Can anyone tell me where the tachometer sensor is on the '03 6.0's? I know that these are electronic tachs, but where do the readings originate? Is there a sensor on the crankshaft or camshaft???? Any ideas????

Are you trying to install an aftermarket tachometer, or something that needs an straight ignition signal?
No, I'm trying to quantify a theory about the correlation between the tach and speedo in regard to different tire sizes. Technically, if you install larger tires, the speedo reading should be lower than the actual road speed and the corresponding tach reading should also be lower by the same percentage. However, with the 6.0, the indicated speed is less than the actual road speed, as it should be, but the tach readings are dead on for the actual road speed. I recorded the tach readings and the corresponding speedo readings with the stock tires. After the tire swap, I recorded the tach readings, the indicated speedo readings and the actual road speed as indicated by GPS. The tach readings and GPS readings were dead on. It doesn't make sense, but the GPS doesn't lie.
