So after running the vin number on my truck 5 years after i bought i noticed that the numbers where different than i thought. I thought i had 174K but it looks like its more like 274k. Hate to talk about it and jinx things but it brought up this question. What kind of mileage do you guys have on your trucks. Does 274k even sound possible? The truck runs better than it has ever run so im curious where everyone is on the odometer race.

Reason: big fingers on laptop :)
I bought my 89 Bronco back in October of last year. The guy I bought it from had it advertised as only 131K miles, but I did the Carfax thing and found it had to have been 231K miles. I showed him that, ended up getting it cheap, but it runs well, all power windows, locks work great, even has working AC. I did have to replace the gas tank due to rust, but otherwise I'm still running strong at 233K.

Since these trucks are over decade old . And I like them all of mine have well over 200000 on them if rust dosnt kill them . But only had 3 that motor lasted that long without some work . I sold a Bronc I bought with 120000 mile bad #8 exhaust valve. Fixed and sold at 190000 it is still on raod now and its been 2 years. If its solid so what . My lnew 94 truck I drove 500 miles to haul it back . Rust free & needed motor
There are probably a bunch of them out there with 300,000 to 400,000 miles on them. It would be interesting to see who has the highest mileage Bronco. My brother in law has the other brand full size SUV with around 450,000 that has never had the engine out of the truck and he still drives it regularly. Granted, most of his miles were road miles on longer trips, and he is very **** about maintenance, but if it is running well, I would just drive it.
I have a 79 Bronco that I bought new in 79 it now has 460000 on it . Did rebuild engine at 130000 due to bad crank bearings. It is still going strong although I now drive a Expedition mostly now.
I have a 1980 Bronco. The odometer reads 74000 (only has 5 digits on it), but I think it has 274,000 miles on it. The motor was rebuilt, probably close to 200,000 and its running strong. I've heard of these trucks running well past 250,000 with some good maintenance, its usually the rust that kills broncos.
I have a '96 Bronco with a 5.8 that I bought new and it has 235,000 miles with no major engine or tranny work. I'll keep driving it until they finally make a new Bronco.
