two speed axile
My 2006 F250 4 x 4 Is sleeping over at the dealers. The noise that I want fixed is. When the truck is cold, when you throttle down as you take off and then let off it sounds like a two speed axile poping in and out.
Also when I was trying to duplicate the noise By putting the transmission in gear
and holding the brakes and pressing hard on the go pedal and the let off the throttle, I get the auful back lash sound. Dealer says normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I may have rambled here anyoner have a clue to what is wrong.
Truck has 1,300 miles on it

Greasing the slip joint on the driveshaft(s) will usually take care of this.
Have them pull the differential cover, and use a dial indicator to check the gear backlask. If it is in spec, have them grease all of the U-joints and the slip joint. I'm sure this will take care of it.

The noise is when you let off the throttle . And only when Cold. I failed to mention that the transmission changes in and out of over drive every time you let off the throttle.Dealer thinks a reflash will fix that???? My dealer is way behind in service so I can't say when I will be back on the road
