I've had similar things happen twice. The first was back in the days of collage. me and three other guys were all riding back together (200 miles of intersate) in one of there 94' chevy stepside trucks, well we stopped to grab some beer (we had one guy dd and also why nobody wanted to drive, lol) we drove about an hour of the trip on back roads when we decided we better stop at a bar and get some more cold ones. well after having a quick one with the bar tender and grabbin a case to go we get back out to the truck and I notice my shaving bag sitting in front of the rear fender on the step side. I was givinig the guys **** about not putting stuff back after they move it when we relized that at the first stop I had moved it to reach somehting in the bed and "I" didn't put it back. so it road on the step side for an hour down the back roads and never fell off. damndest thing, we all had a good laugh over that one!
The second time just happen last labor day. I was at the lake and working on the boat and set my knife on my bed rail. completely forgot about it. low an behold two weeks later I'm driving down the hwy coming back from grouse hunting and see sitting half on and half off of the bed rail leaned up against the rear mount point for my bed rails. yep there was my knife that made it home (60 miles) on the bed rail towing the boat and camper, and then made it another 150 miles out hunting that day before I noticed it! truely amazing!
