lift kits

I am thinking putting a lift kit on my truck. I was wondering what would be the best but pretty cheap option to go with. I am only wanting to add maybe 2 or 3 inches to the truck. Any suggestions?

As far as suspension is concerned, you are going to get exactly what you pay for.

IMO, the best on the market?

Cheap? Nope.

+1 on Donohoe! Talk to Jeremy at Donohoe, he's quite helpful and most knowledgeable.

If you can't afford a quality lift system, wait and save your money until you can.

Donohoe raced an 05 Super Duty PSD with their 4.5" lift system in the Baja 1000. They had no problems and jumped the truck ALOT. I have yet to see another lift kit company do that with a Super Duty PSD.

My 4" skyjacker kit seems to be working pretty well. If I remember right it was around 2500 installed. I dont know how well it would hold up to a big truck jumping round, but it has held up to some heavy hauling.

I see your truck is a 2003 f-250. I have the ProComp suspension lift, & am very happy with it. I don't do any junping though. The most I do is play in the sand dunes down on the coast. Haven't had any problems at all. It's a direct bolt on kit you can do your self, as I did. I do have some tire rubbing, but that is because I went with alittle bigger tire than recommended. But just at full turn. I tow a 30" TT and have no problems. The ride is alittle stiffer but you must expect it to be in my opion. When the TT is hooked up though the ride is better than stock. If your not into heavey 4wheeling then I think the ProComp would be fine.

I agre with the other members. Do not lift your truck with cheap blocks. You're only asking for trouble.

Save your money and purchase a quality kit. Your life may depend on it some day.

For the BEST option, hands down...

If it's a 99-04 SD I'd go with the Donahoe Racing 2" Mini Spring Pack or the 3" hanger and shackle setup.

For the 05-07 SDs the Donahoe Racing 2.5" leveling system (dual rate coils and DR sig series shocks).

We stock and sell the complete line of Donahoe Racing suspension Systems.

Ford Add-A-Leaf kit

I'm in a similar situation. I've got an '04 F250 FX4 PSD CC SB.

The front is almost exactly 2" shorter than the rear. It seems my research has shown that many of the "leveling" kits add 2.5" - 3" to the front, thus putting the front higher.

I'm leaning toward the Donahoe 2" Mini-Spring pack, but I will say this.... my brother-in-law has a '95 F350 4x4 CC LB PSD. His "un-levelness" was pretty much like mine, right at 2". He added the "Ford Add-A-Leaf" kit from Suspension Connection for $109, which says it adds 1.5" to the front. It's actually now almost perfectly level, and yes..while the ride did get slightly stiffer (hard to tell on the 350), it's been a great, inexpensive and robust solution.

Ok... I may have answered my own question....and with DCSpecial's recommendation.

The Donahoe 2" mini-spring pack runs about $199, while the Ford Add-A-Leaf is about $109. I helped my brother-in-law install the Add-A-Leaf and it required a fair amount of help from a sledgehammer, since you essentially slide the new leaf between existing leafs.

On Donahoes mini-spring pack, you just add the mini pack to the bottom of the stock pack. Sounds easier and more robust. For the $90 difference, I'll go Donahoe.

tnx,TX

i've heard alot of good things about the pro-comp, but basically you get what you pay for and using big blocks will leave some dissappointment

i no i should post another thread but i don wana waste space was to try n get a 3-4" lift on my 96 f-250 supercab 8ft bed with the 460
i was thinkn if i just added the leafs it would be ok cuz i think the weight will only gimme a 2-3" lift with that the truck would be level (right now my right frnt leaf is bad, well i think cuz it doesnt sit level in front), i don't think any axel or sway bar drops would be needed but i'm not sure
