Yes the beds are the same width.. They are talking about how far back it comes.. You'll loose about 1.75ft of bed space with a 60x20..
I had a DeeZee chest type truck-box in my 2001 F-150 Supercrew. It fit perfect in the bed underneath my toneau cover (exept that it took up alot of fore-aft room). I just sold that F-150 3 weeks ago and replaced it with my new 2007 F-250 6.0L. I moved that truck box over to the F-250 and it works as perfectly as it did in my F-150 except that I now have more spare room in the bed. I don't know it's dimensions off the top of my head, but I can get that for you tomorrow. I think I paid $300 for it a few years ago. It looks as good now as it did when I first bought (it spent it's whole life under the toneau cover).
I am also looking for a black chest type toolbox for my f-350 longbed. Any suggestions (and dimensions) would be appreciated. I haven't found any stores in my area that have them in stock, so I want to be sure that I know what I'm getting before I order one.
I bought a Challanger alum box for my work truck. Its 45x19x21. Better Built has two struts compared to only one on the Challanger. They come in longer sizes but I can't know how long. Any truck accessory dealer carries them. I think they are around $300.00
havent had a chest type, but i just got a new weathergaurd, and i love it, definitley the best built tool box i have seen. i had a husky and the only thing i liked about it was the 3 year warranty, after only a year, my latches tore off and i had to take the struts of so it would close, and then i had to hold it open when i wanted in it. But i did find out they will give you a new one for up to 3 years, so i sold the new one to my brother for cheap.
I wanted a chest but went with a uws low profile deep over the rail. I love this box the top of the bow sits under the bottom of the back window and gives me so much room inside.
