This puzzles me? The white smoke disapears on mine when the water temp his +20C (I have a scangage), if your truck was still smoking after 30 min of idling I dont think your warm up circuit is working right. Does it kick up the idle speed after a couple minutes of inactivity an you can really hear the turbo after that?

On the initial start, the truck will almost hiccup (sounds like its missfiring which I think it is with the sticking injectors). After about ten minutes, the white smoke will die down a bit. When the high idile kicks in, it will start to smoke a bit more (just like when im accelerating). When at optimal running conditions, the exaust will still smoke when accelearting. This is at -20c outside and my temp coolant guage reads at half (although every viechicle I saw smoked just as much). For my turbo, I can hear the whistle when the high idile kicks in. And believe you me, I love the sound of that turbo.

I can tell you that your temp gauge doesnt even start to move until the water is at 50C, my truck has never run hotter than 89C in the summer and the gauge is around half. Over Christmas I had a cold start around -15C (unplugged) and boy it didnt like it, the truck shook and wasnt running on all 8. My guess is the cold oil is what is making it rough, I noticed a diference when I went from 10W-30 to 0W-40. I would recomend an oil pan heater.

The good news, I am running 0W-40 Synthetic right now as of the beginning of December. As for an oil pan heater, I haven't even thought of one. I read many posts about installing one but never the benefits of having one. This is the first year that I've ever had problems on cold start. Last year, plugging in the block heater was enough to keep the truck warm and get going after 15min. Does anyone think that my water pump could be the problem? Just a guess.

Hissing noise+burning 7 gallons of diesel idleing

Possible answer: Parted fuel line (hissing is fuel pump pumping fuel overboard)

Seen any puddles under your truck?

None whatsoever. Hissing sound is cracked y-pipe (reason for fumes inside of cab. Boy does it make me high when I get in that truck). And (guessing on this) fuel consumption is caused by enging burning more fuel due to low compression on the turbo so engine is working harder when driving to accelerate.
