Oil pan compatibility question

Will the oil pan from an '87 302 fit on an '83 302?

Autozone lists the same replacement pan for both, so I'd say yes.

The only issue I'm aware of has to do with dipstick location. EFI trucks used a mid driver's side location. Some pre-EFI applications (and it might be cars I'm thinking of) had the dipstick in the timing gear cover - those might not have the needed divot in the driver's side of the pan.

If you buy aftermarket, then yes they probably have the divot in all of them.

The dip stick on my '83 is located mid-driver's side so maybe it will be OK.
