No timing Mark

No timing Mark
I just checked my timing on my 1996 4 cyl SOHC Ranger and found no marks to line my crank , Wher does the line line up to. I found TDC on #1 cyl compression stroke and the valve and oil dosent line up.

I ment to say there is no mark to line up the crank pulley on the inner belt cover, there is a mark on the crank pulley . And is there a way we can take the spring tension off of the timing belt without the use of the camshaft belt tension adjusting tool? I think I do have to take the pulley off and put the key at 12 o clock. TNX guyin stl.
