Cool Ford AOD, I need help!

I have installed a 302 motor with an AOD in my 53 truck. The two upper bolts for the tailshaft housing are used to fasten the shifter to the transmission. When attempting to remove one of these bolts the head twisted off. I would like to remove the tailshaft housing to access the broken bolt. Can I remove it without having a bunch of parts fall out of the housing?
Thanks for any help someone might be able to provide.

I checked my Haynes manual and you should be good to remove the tailshaft without any parts falling out. Maybe some oil, but that should be about it.
Good Luck,
Chuck

Yes. Nothing will fall out. I had to replace the housing on mine. No problem.

Make sure you have the Kick Down presure set right. I put an AOD in my 54 with my 302 it runs great but the Trans guy I work with told me not to drive it over 5 miles before getting the pressure checked/adjusted. If it is not set correctly you will burn the tranny up. Alot of people do not realize this
