Red face 302 swap

I have a 94 f-150 5.0 FI 222000 miles on it. I have some questions on things i have read in other threads. It is my understanding that I can use the short block I have out of an 83 ltd 302 (fresh rebuild), however if I use my heads I can still use my EFI setup that is stock on the truck but it is recommended that I change the cam???
What about the knock sensor on the rear of the original block?
What do I do about the carb style fuel pump location?
What is all this stuff about firing order? what do I do?????
I am just confused about a few things about the swap please help???

It will run with your 83 heads and cam.

Use the Engine Front Cover from the 94 or put a blank plate over it.

The cam determines the firing order. The roller cam from 94 will have the same firing order as the 351 and the 83-non-roller cam will have the older 302 firing order.

Leave the knock sensor off or drill and tap the block.
You can get block-off plates for the fuel pump holes, or change the timing cover to an EFI version.
The firing order is determined by the cam, the motor will work with either Windsor firing order.

Now it really has me thinking the engine that I have taken out is not a roller set up. that tells me that the engine has been replaced. (which I suspected anyway), I busted the crank just behind the number 2 connecting rod and it also busted the block and shreaded the frt timing cover when the harmonic balancer crack, not sure what happen first balancer or crank???
So anyway thanks for the input!!!!
