04 FX4- Have the factory bfg rugged trail, (second set) dealer replaced the first at 4000 miles because of vibration issuses. Never liked these tires. I drive 80 % hwy. and mabe 20% off road. Anyone have experience with goodyear wrangler silent armor in the same p275 65r 18 size? Or any other brand. Thanks
not to hijack your post but i'm interested to see if anyone has any experience with the pirelli scorpions i can't believe they rank higher on tirerack.com than the goodyear silent armor and the bridgestone dueler revo
look at general grabber at 2's im not sure why more people dont look at them.maybe they are hard to find not sure.i had them on my old truck when i sold it i was very happy with them and would love to get some now for my 05 f150,wife says not till the stockers are dead and gone.that wont be long hankooks are going fast not to good on wear.
i actually just got the silent armors on my truck last w/e and i love em!! my dad also has the e rated ones on his dodge 2500 and they are very quiet and look awesome. also i just put fx4 wheels on my xl f150.. the tires and wheels make my truck look like a different truck. if you shop around you can hardly find anything cheaper than these tires either. i paid 170 each installed at a local good year place and have seen them online for around 150 a piece. i'll try to post pics soon for ya. mine are aslo 275 65 18s.
I have the Pirelli Scorpion STRa's on my truck (265-70-r17) and they are super quiet on the road, and grab very well- much better than I thought they would. We got them for the extra sidewall for hauling stuff for work, but they are great tires... I had Yoko Geolanders previously, and these are much quieter. I am a construction equipment sales rep, and I'm on jobsites all day and have no issues whatsoever with the Pirelli's. I'd definitely reccomend them!
If you want an excellant performing tire in all conditions, go with the Grabbers AT 2. I had them on my previous truck and was very surprised. They have the rim protector and they wear like armour. I have the BF Rugged trail on my 06 and I HATE them! They are terrible in the snow and no good with mud. I think they were $198 a tire (Can.) for a 265/70/16.
i have a set of pirelli scorpeons on brand new 18" crome 07 expedition rims with about 8 miles on the whole set if anyone is interested. $500 for the set.
