Hi, I have recently bought a 4" suspension lift kit used. It came with springs for the front, 4 shocks, pitman arm, extended radius arms, blocks for the rear, and extended brake lines. I am going to be putting it in real soon and wondered about my alignment. I heard that when you lift ur vehicle u cannot align it to the stock specs. Is this true? If it is, does anyone know where u can aquire the new lifted specs? Also, is there any kind of way to get a hold of a lift kit instruction manual. I believe my lift is Procomp and i know i can figure it out, but it wouldn't hurt if the instructions were easy to obtain. Thanks in advance.
oops sorry, i got a 1994 ford f150. I work in a mechanic shop with an alignment machine, but all we have is the stock specs. So i don't know if i align it with the stock specs it would throw everything way off. it has the option to plug in ur own specs that is why i was wondering if there was some different specs for lifted trucks.
What part of the alignment are you wanting to retain? For toe settings and camber, stock will be fine. For caster, you'll need to find a happy medium between driveability and pinion angle.
your caster and camber is controled by a cam bushing on the top ball joint. you can go the an auto parts store and get different degree bushing if you need more camber. caster should be the same. skinsfan6 is right. you should have two drop pivot brackets for the center. if you bought the kit used and dont have them. call 1-800-jack-it, and you can buy them seperately. may also get a instruction book for the lift kit also. jack-it 4wd should have what you need.
