Manually locked them last night to pull a car out of the snow, locked in 4-low, I left it locked in overnight. This morning when I went to put it back in 2-high, after resetting the hubs to auto, I had to go back and forth several times and back to nuetral, took several tries before it released. Is this common?
Before the hubs released? It's not normal per se but I used to have to do that sometimes to get the left hub to completely unlock. Sometimes I had to keep going from LOCK to AUTO on the hub itself to free the dang thing up.
Using or at least switching everything in and out of 4WD on a regular basis is the key to keep everything working properly.
Yup, it wouldn't come out of low range and the indicator showed that it was still in 4X4. I haven't had any problem between 2 and 4-high, it was the low range. Now that I think about it, it didn't engage low range right away either. Hmmmmm...
I was confused. You title says "hubs stuck" but your problem seemed to be that the transfer case wouldn't come out of Lo range. Sorry for my inapplicable advice.
