no juice

I have 1989 e350, my battery is fully charged but i have no lights ,wont turn over, gages dont work, nothing works, it did this all of sudden. any ideas?

Open circuit int he primary power distribution subsystm.

Battery cables, etc are your most likely fault.

Just set the headlight switch to ON, then take your voltmeter and measure across points that should be a direct cable connection, ie, neg post to engine block, positive post to starter relay/primary fuseblock, etc. The faulty/open connection will be the one that shows most of your battery voltage across what should be a direct connection.

If the cables are ok, find your starter relay/solenoid were the battery + cable goes. On that large stud on the starter solenoid there should be a smaller wire or wires. These power the whole elec system, and there should be a colored rubber thing in the wire. See if it's burnt out. That's the fusible link.

Thanks for all the help. it was the negative battery cable, even though it was very tight on the engine block the bolt was rusty.
