Smile Question For The Techs

I have a 2004 f250 6.0L and last week I got a code stating that number 5 injection fuel contribuion/balance fault I cleared the code and has not returned. Today I was picking my girl up from school and with truck at idle it missed and put alot of blue smoke out of the exhaust for about 2 seconds then quit. Runs fine and no codes at all. I called the dealer and told them what had happen they told me do drive it if it runs fine and no more smoke. I have a appointment for wensday morning for the reflash and exhaust back pressure sen. replacement. What would cause this problem injector going bad, some water in the fuel, what do you think it can be or what should be done to check to see what the problem is? I do use diesel kleen with every tank of fuel always. Truck runs great with tons of power. Very strange.
Thanks,
Stroker04

The misfire could have been an injector. The smoking could be an egr valve. You could possibly have a programming issue, or wiring chafes. Clearing any codes actually is detrimental, because you also eliminate any snapshot data that the pcm stores for diagnostic help.

I'm just curious; how many miles are on your truck?

The truck has 34800 miles. The truck has code P0299 right now.
