Actuator problem for liftgate

I have this is word format with pictures since wasn't able to load in this forum. I hope this helps with someone else. I started with removing the cover by removing the handle first.. They are torx screws maybe (T30) or higher. Then the bottom of the cover comes off first the top will pull out eventually. the bottom snaps out and the tope is held in by the plastic clips. With the cover removed and here i just removed the lining. This will expose the actuator and locking mechanism. I decided to remove the wiper motor first and it will help me remove to item. . Disconnect the actuator plug. I used 7/16 sockets with an angle attachment to remove the nuts. Here is a better view without the wiper motor. Pull the tension cables from the top and the bottom. Remove clip connecting to the handle by using a screwdriver to pop the lever out. I romved the lock rod from the pink clips. Now it's ready to be pulled out. Using the 7/16 socket, remove the three nuts holding the controller and pull out to the left where the motor used to be. I left the motor in before and it took me about two hours the pull it out from the right!!! I have removed my actuator the other night to work on it. Here is the assembly I used a foil wrapped to the size of the resistor Here is the space required to remove the motor the white gear is not aligned correctly, the larger diameter gear sonnects the the teeth of the motor gear. I used pliers on the housing and the plastic part to seperate the two. Becarefully of this step you don't want to ruin the springs inside. I removed the dead resistor and used foil to connect the contacts inside. Later on I will get a 3 OHM resistor to replace it. Don't want to overload the circuit and burn it out. I have kids that play with the buttons. I connected the two pieces back together and used Zip ties found from the hardware store the keep tension on the housing. There is a lot of torque on the housing and I didn't want to ruin my long work! Align the repaired actuatorto the prongs on the controller insert halfway so you can align the lever to the yellow clip on controller. Don't forget to app;y silicone to the back of the gearsthis will help with the key if you lock it manually. Once seated insert back into area the same way it came out. make sure you insert locking rod before you bolt it back up!!! You can choose the connect the tension cables at this point. It will be a PITA, but it will reach! reconnect handle lever to mechanismthen reconnect the lock rod to pink clip. insert wiper motor , and bolt it back up! Connect actuator reapply lining. Then reconnect the cover. Attach the handleand just clean up the grease left from you hands and you are done! Next are the doors. This took me about six hours initialy but took about an hour for the picture taking for the write up. If you need more info my email is srq4@hotmail.com I also have this in word format to print out if anyone needs it.

You know people could use this!

Why don't you submit it to the webmaster via email in Word format and he'll take it from there. He'll send you a T-shirt (I believe) with each article submission provided it has pic.
