another mirror removal question

Simple one, millions of search results and no time to rummage through them. I have to replace the tow mirror on my X, it's rather easy isn't it?

Yes It Is, Just Remove The Interior Door Panel So You Can Get To The Wire Assembly (power Mirrors) And Remove The Small Plastic Piece At The Top Of The Door Which Covers The Bolts That Hold The Mirror In Place. Takes No Time At All, Just Do Not Over Torque The Bolts, Had One Snap On Me.

Great, thanks! Now if I can just talk my boss into replacing my driver's seat skins and heater life would be grand!

Back to the mirror question. The electrical connection is behind the speaker, so that has to come off too after you take off the door panel.

btw, the mirrors have 4 bolts (two are hiding under the rubber plugs, and the other behind the little black panel underneath the sticky foam sheet thing.

Hope that helps!

Isaac

Well those are 5.5mm metric bolts. Also mine had a single round plug so it was easier when replacing it.

Did you replace just one piece of leather? If so,, what was the cost. I have some seat damage and the estimate to repair is $300, but depending on cost for new leather I might do the work myself.

Thanks Jim

Go To: Geniun Ford Parts You Can Search All Parts, Interior And Exterior At Discount Prices. All Parts Are Oem. The Leather Seat Cover For The Limited Is Listed At $201.76, Remember, This Is Just The Leather Seating Surface, Does Not Include The Seat Back Surface, That Is A Seperate Purchase.

Check the tech files for door actuator. There are detail photos showing how to remove the panel. Same procedure to work on the windor or actuator. Jim

Just Pull Up On The Door From The Bottom Of The Panel And The Arm Rest, It Will Slide Out Of The Groves On The Door. Its A Little Bit Of A Pain In The A&* To Put Back In Place Because You Have To Make Sure All The Groves Line Up With The Door.

New mirror is on, thanks for the advise guys. The only thing I don't like is the driver's side mirror is the original style, the new passenger is the break forward and rear style so there is a bit of difference but I don't think you'd notice it unless you're looking for it.
