vibration at 30-35mph??

i have a 97 ranger 4.0 4x4 and i am getting a pretty decent vibration around 30-35 mph. i got my new tires balanced and got an alignment as well. however, the shop also put in what they called a rear drive kit. that kit is supposed to help fix the sloppy shifting at low rpms. i have no idea what this rear drive kit is but i am wondering if maybe the drive shaft needs to be removed and rotated 180 degrees? i know this can cause vibration or help fix it. i am figuring if that drive shaft had to come off for this rear drive kit to be installed then maybe it just needs rotated to help fix the vibration. any suggestions would be great.

You are correct that if the driveshaft was removed and not reinstalled in the same position, then it may be unbalanced. The driveshaft should be properly marked when removing to avoid this from happening.

However, how do you know that the vibration is not in one of the new wheels? Either way, I advise you show the problem to the shop that did the work and have them determine the source of the vibration and correct the problem. And find out more about the "rear drive kit".

this is my brothers truck actually and he doesn't really know anything about it. all i know is that the rear drive kit is supposed to help sloppy shifting at low rpms. the problem could be in one of the wheels. however, when i rotate the tires the problem is not any better or worse. i usually will notice a difference when rotating tires if there is a problem with one of the wheels/tires.
