Well I have 8 months of school left and after I should be able to get a good Job making damn good money and my truck a beautiful 92 f-150 in excellent shape. is either going to be sold or depending on the expense I may decide to turn it into a diesel monster. a 7.3 in a f-150. o.0. yeah its a big big upgrade and alot of money and time will be needed but who can say they own a powerstroke f-150?
What would I need to undertake such a project. like I need a new fuel system chassis axel upgrades.
would I just be better off selling it and buying a diesel?
all depends on how much work you're willing to put into it as to which way would be better. When I did my swap I'm pretty sure it would have been cheaper to just buy a truck with a 5.0 but this way I can say it truly is a truck I created!
fuel system of the donor truck that you are going to buy so have all those little parts.
as well as suspention parts drive shafts. I'd just buy a nice F250- F350 and max it out to you liking . you'll have same basic truck (if want short bed cut it down)
I know a guy that has a 7.3 in a F150 all he changed on the suspention is to F350 2x4 front coils and drive shafts. . He said that its not any heavyier than running around with 7 1/2 ft snowplow for 6 moths a year. He repacks front bearings every 3rd oil change . No problems . But he is 65 and never hauls or gets over 55 mph ( that 7.3 will eat the 8.8 rear) Later
