What makes the bts so diffrent? how diffrent does it drive and shift? i am assuming that its the one from brains truck stop
It shifts pretty firm but not harsh. Also it is very durable from what others have been saying. It runs cooler than the stock trans. His service is second to none.
Mine went out @ 88k. At about 25k on the rebuild, I was pulling a fairly heavy load of pressure vessels to Odessa set on performance tow. A couple times I had to pass and all of a sudden I would have to shower down on it due to on-coming traffic. Both times it sounded like I ran over a dog. It is now at 145k and still going. However, somtimes when it goes into the last gear when passing someone it will just yelp a little like someone kicked the dog. Anyone know what that could be?
A little over 180000. Filter and flush once. Hauled a lot with the car trailer. About a year with a 5th wheel camper and picking up a 25 ft cabin cruiser this week end so will be making week end trips to the coast this spring and summer. Not worried bout this tranny at all. But if it does go south, I'll be headed north to get a BTS.
I’m at 394,550 on my 2002 F250 7.3 4wd.
But in 2012 at 260k miles i had the 1-2 shift issue. Sticking aluminum valves. I did the accumulator vb kit upgrade with the steel valves. Been fine since. But i know I’m on borrowed time. Bought the rebuild kit and TC last year. I’m hoping to get to 400k before i have to do it😀🙏🏻

Went about 275. Then I put new injectors in, and a hot tune. On the test drive, got on the freeway. Sideways through first gear, sideways through second gear, hit 3rd gear hard, and slushed 4th.
I smoked mine about 100K smoked the rebuild twice 140ish and 160ish, and then got the HD4R100 and all is well with 160/30's and GTP38R, etc. at 240k+. Nice pull on a thread from 12 years ago.
