Hi, I have a 1959 F250 which has the standard black steering wheel and horn button. I have recently purchased a white wheel and horn ring from a custom cab. The retainer clip is attached to the bottom of the ring but the spring is missing. Can anyone tell me if the wire and contact button are the same for both button or ring, or is there supposed to be some sort of contact plate? If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I had a 59 custom cab over 20 years ago, but only had the horn ring off once. I can't remember and it's frustrating.
Have a safe and happy Fourth!

i read your post, i can say that no both rings are not using same contact custom is like a sleeve that fits in steering shaft \has a collar to to hold in top of steering shaft and the wire that runs down shaft has a ball at the end that fits in the callar , i hope that helps i dont recall see in my 58 manual either the spring , well it is just the right size to fit in thecenter of horn ring and is about 1 inch long i think, finding one maybe from a car with simulare ring would be easier, ha or spring stock its a fairly stiff spring good luck garry
Thanks garry. your reply helped to jarr my memory a little bit. I think I do remember a ball bearing type of "switch". I wish I could find an illustration of what's supposed to be in there, or better yet the actual parts.
Thanks for the help.

Thank you Charles. I already have the white steering wheel, with the horn ring, and since that posting, I had found the right spring. I just can't seem to find the horn brush switch anywhere. The horn rings that Dennis Carpenter has are for the '61 thru '70 Custom Cab. The one that I have is exclusive to 1959 and 1960 Custom Cabs. None of the reproduction companies carry these. I appreciate the the reply though. Thanks again,
Kenny
