While I was fueling today i popped the hood and checked the usual. Something told me to check the Map line T-Fitting. It was loose very loose, completly backed off hanging by a thread loose. Its the brass connector to a plastic T. So i tightened it back up. Truck seems to spool faster and has a smoother tone to the engine at idle and during acceleration. I was still showing good boost before i found this leak. I Rarely push it past 15 pounds as i get on the high-way. I shift at 2000 rpms on pretty much every shift and dont load the engine in tall gears so i dont see the high boost y'all see. Didnt have alot of black smoke before or after the fix. The only thing I saw /noticed was the smoother engine under acceleration and a little faster spool up. Am I imagining this? BTW: My fuel mileage has been a tad lower than usual , but i associated it to the winter blend fuel. I dropped from 17-18mpg to 15-16 mpg. Same driving habits, same tunes. EGT's are the same too.

Was the lack of air pressure making it to the map sensor, becuase the T-Fitting was loose , affecting the fuel being injected inwith all that air it was getting?

 

If you wernt noticing it on the gauge it wasnt leaking much. I usually loose 1-2 mpg on winter blend. If we qualify to call it winter down hear.
