Dead truck - need help

I have a '68 F250 highboy with a 390 recently rebuilt that won't run. It has an Edelbrock 1406, MSD ignition and dizzy. It will start and die. It acts like it is starving and the AFR meter shows it is starving, but the fuel pump (electric) is working (tested for flow at the carb) and the fuel filter is clean. If you pump the pedal a few times it will fire for a few seconds and then die. Prior to dying completely, it would suddenly go very lean for a few seconds and then recover and run fine for a while.

Could this be a vaccum problem?

Can a fuel pump flow nicely open discharge but not be able to fill the bowl?

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you run it dry? You tried pulling off the carb lid and filling up the bowl?

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if your pump is pumping fuel or just making noise.... Could also be a needle and seat stuck closed and not letting the fuel into the carb....
